Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got…..
The ZERO Waste Art series is the outcome of meticulous research into harnessing the potential of corrugated board. Inge’s intention was to showcase the vibrant hues and inherent purity of the material in this collection.
Viewers often find themselves in a delightful state of bewilderment, prompting the question, “What am I truly witnessing?” Through this deliberate ambiguity, Inge aspires to encourage contemplation about personal material consumption and usage. Her approach is not about dictating behavior but rather inspiring others to reconsider their relationship with materials in the realm of visual arts, urging a shift towards sustainability.
Inge draws inspiration from music, and the ZERO Waste Art series is no exception. The work is a homage to Jennifer Lopez’s iconic lyrics, “Used to have a little, now I have a lot. No matter where I go, I know where I came from. Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got…”—with a playful nod to the recycled corrugated cardboard she creatively employs.
