“What do we use, what do we need and what waste do we leave behind”Inge Prins van Wijngaarden
I like to paint on cardboard. Weaving cardboard together with jute creates even more effect. Nowadays I make my canvases / panels from used cardboard. The cloths are permanently impregnated. I paint on these canvases with water mixable oil paint from the Artist line of Cobra. I hope for more awareness through this way of reuse. What do we use, what do we need and what waste do we leave behind? And if a work of art fails, it can go straight back into the paper bin.
Working on cardboard is partly due to the fact that since I have lived in Baarn I see how much is ordered online and how difficult it is for the shops in the village.
Painting on cardboard has also created a fascination for other packaging.
This can be seen in ‘free work’ and a number of wall hangings made of cardboard.
